* Diploma of “Specialist” will be granted at graduation.
Qualifications
A) Applicant must have completed a standard 12 year curriculum at accredited schools outside of Japan and have obtained the International Baccalaureate Diploma (the International Baccalaureate Diploma).
B) Applicant must fulfill at least one of the conditions below.
- Have studied more than 6 months at the Japanese language school in Japan qualified by Association for the promotion of Japanese Language Education. Also to be able to submit the Certificate of Graduation or the Certificate of details of study.
- To pass JLPT(Japanese Language Proficiency Test) N2 by Japan Foundation.
- To obtain more than 200 points of Education at EJU(Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students) held JASSO(Japan Student Services Organization).
C) To be able to keep more than 90% of attendance rate until graduation.
Application procedure
Please submit the documents required to Admission office by deadline. After examination of the documents and screening, we will submit them to Immigration. After passing Immigration, the applicant will complete the payment, then we will send the original documents to the applicant. Applicant will get the College Visa and come to Japan as our student.

3）Declaration (DD-1)
4）Certificate of Graduation (from last school attended) in Original
5）Photographs (4cm x 3cm) 8 pcs (Write the name on the back of each picture)
6）Certificate of Japanese Language
7）Passport Copy *To be submitted the copies of Visas who have been to Japan before
8）Certificate of Occupation *In case applicant is currently working.
9）Dormitory application *In case you need to apply for school dormitory.
B) Documents from sponsor
1）Letter of Support (CC-1)
2）Letter of Guarantee (EE-1)
3）Certificate of relationship to the Applicant / ex) Birth Certificate, Resident Certificate
4）Certificate of the balance of the bank under the name of financial sponsor
5）Copy of a Bankbook or statements from the bank of above account
6）Certificate of sponsor’s Occupation, one of below
Certificate of Employment from the company
Copy of company registeration
Copy of Business License
7）Certificate of Annual Income for the latest 3 years
8）Tax payment certificate for the latest 3 years if it's not included in above.
9）(In case sponsor resides in Japan) Juminhyo (Certificate of residence)
* As to above documents, application forms must be filled out and signed by the applicant / sponsor's own hand.
* Please attach Japanese translation if the document is not in Japanese or in English.
Period of Application
Beginning of October 2010 to Beginning of December, 2010 The Application period may be changed slightly by the Immigration Office.
Application Fee
JPY20,000 ( Twenty thousand Japanese Yen)
Application fee should be paid when documents are submitted.
Please be noted that application fee is not refundable regardless of any result.
Screening
Japanese Language (Written Test) and Interview
- As a rule, screening takes place in Japan, but we will send our stuff for screening to applicant's country if it's impossible to come to Japan with a good reason. In this case Admission office will tell you the date and time, the details of screening.
- In case sponsor resides in Japan, interview with the sponsor is essential. Also, relative of the applicant resides in Japan and the relative takes responsibility as guarantor, interview with the guarantor is essential. We may ask the guarantor to submit the same kinds of documents as sponsor, these documents will be used for screening.

- School Member Association Fee is used as part of budget of School Festival or Fashion Show. Please pay this each year with Tuition.
- Activity fee is for School trip and other school activities. Please pay this each year.
- Insurance covers two years’ enrollment in case of injury or other accident while students are in class or school activities.
How to pay fees
- Please pay total Fees of first year to school account of Yokohama Design College. We will send the original documents at the confirmation of bank transfer.
- Certificate of bank transfer of living expense and course fees will be needed to submit at change of visa status or extension. Please do make bank transfer at the payment of living expense or course fees.
- In case of Visa issue is rejected at Japan Embassy, we will refund the rest of the total fees after deducting Application fee and admission fee and bank Charge.
